How To Apply For Testing Reimbursement

-- GI Bill Tip #27

Test-takers are reimbursed by the GI Bill after the testing has completed. Once you have finished the testing process, you may send your name and social security number to the VA along with a request for payment. You'll need to include the name and address of the agency that grants your certification, the actual cost of the test, plus the name of the test and your exam date.

Don't forget to include this statement: "I authorize release of my test information to VA." Be aware that processing fees, study guides and registration fees are not reimbursable by the GI Bill. One potentially confusing aspect about test reimbursement--there is no official form to file. Simply send your information to the VA with the authorization statement signed and dated; you'll receive payment once it is received and processed.
